Foundation Subjects and General Learning Packs:
Twinkl:
For foundation subjects and craft activities, Twinkl have created a vast range of activities for KS1 learners - These are aimed at being more for crafts, games and short learning activities if you are using them for English and Maths.
Reading:
Reading at home should be on a daily basis and below are some great ways in which this can be done. However, there is no better benefit than either:
- DEAR - Drop Everything And Read. As many members of your household having a set time where you all drop what you are doing and sit together and read
- A child simply reading their favourite book to you
Epic:
There is a fantastic resource for you to access called Epic! where you can read all kind of fiction and non-fiction books - this is free and accessible from desktops and tablets, however only during school hours.
You can find a range of picture books, topic books as well as audio books.
Amazon Audbile:
Amazon have also made their audible books freely available whilst schools are closed.
We hope you enjoy these resources.
Alternative options:
Twinkl have a recommended timetable, which you can find on the link below. We found the daily workouts the most useful. Just click on your age range and access some of the features.
KS1 Phonics:
Please find the links below for 'Read, Write, Inc' phonics.
KS2 Maths and English:
We can also recommend the website nrich for some high end maths investigations - simply google 'nrich fractions ks2' for example or 'nrich division ks2' and it will have a wide range of investigations. These are ranked on difficulty using 3 stars, 1 being the eaisest.
I can also recommend the website 'Literacy Shed' for some really nice writing opportunities. My personal favourite is German in the woods, which is more aimed at UKS2.
Below is a suggested timetable for your week. Print off and tick as you wish or create your own to personalise with your child. For each subject, use any of the work from the tabs at the top of the page.
